At the Tribeca Grand Hotel, the Cinema Society screened August, Josh Hartnett’s Sundance Film Festival-debuted drama about the post-Web 1.0 world. The Armani style ambassador is currently seeing bohemian actress Tarajia Morrell. Socialites Shoshanna Lonstein Gruss and Dylan Lauren were at the Soho Grand for the celebratory after party, as well as Earnest Sewn executive Eleanor Ylvisaker, whose business partner, denim designer Scott Morrison, dated native New Yorker Tarajia several years ago. Enthusiasts left the hotel for Sway and the Beatrice Inn for unofficial after-after-parties.

shoshanna and ali look so prim and proper compared to the others! not a fan of her uncle but ashley bush looks positively charming. have never heard of her until now but tarajia is a natural beauty. seems sweet.
Shoshanna’s look is so polished. I love all of her Fendi accessories. Also envious of her killer tan!

I actually like Eleanor’s outfit. If Sienna Miller wore trousers more regularly, I bet she’d select a similar look. I like Tarajia’s look a lot. The flowing African print dress, the chunky, tribal jewelry, and such a pretty, clean face… I like her style already. J’adore Robin’s sandals too!
I’m fascinated by the two girls (backs to the camera) in the first picture. What is the temperature in NY these days? A flannel shirt, cut off jeans and heels? Something that looks like a ripped Hanes t-shirt over an exposed black bra and suede boots? I don’t understand NY “fashion”.
For the most part gorgeous!! Shoshanna is perfection. With a trip to a makeup counter Eleanor could be pretty.
I like eccentric dressers. If everyone would go to events like Shoshanna and Dylan, fashion wouldn’t be all that it can be! To that end, Tarajia and Eleanor look great. They dress like London girls. The others are so very conservative with their styles, nothing wrong with that though, it is just not my cup of tea. Julia is a good cross-over between both.
#6 — I’m so distracted by the chunky girl in the plaid shirt, she looks awful, and if she’s not fat the shorts-shoes make her look it.
Julia is a doll. Tarajia’s dress is interesting, strange, I almost like it.

I agree #8…everybody should have their own style..it’s what makes fashion, but it shouldn’t be sloppy, i.e. chubby girl in plaid in the background. Please look at the girl’s face that is talking to her..she’s like are you serious?

What is the girl in the plaid shirt? A size 10 or 12? Horrors!! In the real world, she’d just be normal except for the weird outfit.
Individual style is much more interesting than looking at someone who has a stylist or designer tell them what to wear. But those combinations seem very off and odd (& hot! it’s summertime in NY, right?)
the woman in plaid cannot be a 12, for god’s sake. she is like an 8 or something. but the horror is the heels - that are gross- with the ripped denim shorts. ha ha! great laugh for a monday morning!

Tarajia- what is her story? Where is she from? How on earth do you pronounce that name? She looks like she could be pregnant under that tent, though she does wear it well for someone not a Nicole Richie or Raisinface Zoe frame. Dating Josh she should also take precautions!
I love Tarajia! She’s healthy looking, has such a naturally pretty face, and dresses kind of funky. She should be out in NYC more. Josh Hartnett is way cute. I hope he makes her happy… I’ve seen Josh out and about before here at these kind of parties and he is much thinner than he looks like on the big screen. In his case, the camera does add ten pounds!
Also love Eleanor. Nice to see people who are dressed like they mean it and don’t mind if they offend others with their clothes. The social world needs more boldness like that.

from what i can see of PSRSHH girl…pale skin…dark dark hair…body size…does anyone else think rebecca guinness with her hair pulled back?
Julia really gives Fabiola a run for her money showcasing the right way to wear those type of shoes! Go Julia.
Eleanor is OBSESSED with the high waist and it is ridiculous. Her shiny naked face is so gross too. I’m not saying lay it on thick, just look acceptable woman.
Ali’s hair is way too light for her skin. Robin, please go back under some rock.
Lauren Kent and Ashley Bush are the only ones who dressed well for this event. Julia? No, I’m sorry- but take a good look at those shoes. They do no compliment her style, her body (or anyone’s for that matter). They may be trendy but you don’t (and shouldn’t) follow every trend. Dylan looks fine simply because she’s attractive. Why would you wear a t-shirt dress and put on a pair of heals with it? It makes no sense. I don’t understand why a woman would sacrifice being presentable for the sake of being trendy. Sometimes I really like Eleanor’s look but I don’t undestand the highwaisted pants/jeans. You have to have a completely flat stomach to pull it off. She’s incredibly slender but they’re just not that flattering.

Dylan is SO Ralph Lauren… plus, she just always looks really fresh & happy.
Eleanor- those pants aren’t for soft-bellied ladies. Nothing wrong with a soft belly, though
I think Shoshana always looks classy & pretty, but does anyone else think the belt’s our of place? It doesn’t look bad, just somewhat… gratuitious.

You know, Eleanor’s outfit isn’t so bad. It could even be vibrant on someone else. But this girl badly needs a physical overhaul. Something has to change– the hair, the make-up– it’s lifeless. She’s not doing anything for her looks. Even worse, dulling out her clothes.
Are you looking at the same picture I am of Eleanor? She looks God awful, and believe me she does wear makeup! Her face structure is just terrible and her skin is ashen!

Alright, when is this hideous “bondage shoe” fad going to pass??? Anyone who thinks shoes like these are attractive has good taste limited to his/her mouth. Julia would look fabulous…sans those ghastly shoes.
HAHAHA I didn’t even notice the heels on plaid shirt girl. I assumed it was a MAN when i saw the denim cut-offs. I’m all for original style but at least have some style with the execution.
And Eleanor’s high waisted ensemble is played out. I’m waiting for the god awful camel-toe shot to appear one day. And she should invest in some Shiseido blotting papers. I’m sure to woman is a doll but she just can’t seem to look polished.

Okay from the top: girl in plaid..you can have your own style, but since when is salvation army considered style. Tarajia…pretty and stylish in her own way, but still the muumuu look is not flattering on anyone (lol to “raisinface zoe”). Eleanor looks like crap, plain and simple..there’s no other way to describe it. Her face is oily and gross and is in desperate need of eye makeup to help her scary eyes. Her hair looks like she got out of the shower and didn’t brush it, plus she needs a major styling of it. Since when are grandma jeans in? Although, she works for earnest sewn, which says a lot..tacky(just look at Tinsley on the set of GG to see what I mean). Julia is a knockout and has great style, although the shoes are a bit over the top. Of course she looks great, her mother is the editor of French Vogue. Ali and Shoshanna look great, but the belts are getting to be fashion faux pas #1. Dylan’s gorgeous, but since when do you wear a paper thin t-shirt dress to a party, must less pair it with trashy strappy high heels? Robin is super classy looking, but she looks like she is wearing a wet suit with sandals. And finally, Sharon and Ashley look the picture of perfection, as does everyone in the Bush family. So classy, elegant, and, something most of these girls should take note of, SIMPLE.

Eleanor was on an outside terrace. In the summer heat. In the darkness. The flash of a camera makes anyone/everyone seem like an oily mess, which she is not. Besides, she can’t ask the photographer to wait and then blot off whatever oil is on her face without also retouching her makeup! Surely, we can all try and understand.
Tarajia is a gem. She’s not only beautiful but smart. A unique style.
eleanor:
hideous b&t style accessories (necklace, pashmina, shoes, all equally hideous and cheap looking); disgusting old lady stomach; looking completely washed out and insignificant; as always …
tarajia:
in case everyone has failed to notice: her dress is completely see-through; highly inappropriate for this occasion, and of course she’s not anywhere near hot enough to pull that off …
julia:
by far the best of the bunch; one can always spot the europeans from a mile away in this country of fashion disasters;
ali and shoshanna:
no sense o style; look like people who buy their wardrobe-highlights at intermix; so suburban, common and cheap looking …
dylan: color, shape and style of shoes are so over …
robin: lame handbag; just like everybody else …
sharon and ashley:
consistent with the cheap accessories of the rest of the bunch; that satin chanel … haha … god! and the other one: a zipped!!, i’m guessing, prada satin clutch …
sad people. instead of vacationing on some yacht in italy or france, this people still feel the desperate need to run to those para-society events … in the sweltering heat of the city …

Eleanor’s jeans. . .you must have a perfectly flat stomach to not look gross in those. . .even as tiny as she is she does not. From the front she probably has camel toe. . .eeeeeeew.
I think eleanor could be gorgeous if she would try a little..she just needs some major makeup

To someone above who was wondering: Tarajia is Morrell as in Morrell wines. From the city, place in Millbrook too. Super nice, down to earth, and so pretty. She’s an aspiring actress in the real way: moved to LA and goes out on auditions. Not like, certain other girls, who are “actresses” only because it is de rigeur for a social to have a “profession” now, lest they look like they are social climbing too obviously (not that this ruse ever works, by the way!)
Sometimes don’t you wonder if these women got an invitation to the same event?

Eleanor definitely has a grease problem, she will look shiney when the others do not. Maybe its the ugly high jeans making her SWEAT.
Off topic since I think they all look awful, except Julia. I saw Topper the other night in Southampton at Nello’s having the time of his life. Didn’t see Tinz but she may have been there, too. All I can say is he looked great, dancing up a storm (not with Tinz) and having a great time. I left @ 1:30 am so I missed this, from Page 6:

Pierce Brosnan had been dining and a Kuwaiti princess had a table in the booming hotspot. Owner Nello Balan said he lost as much as $10,000 in business, including money owed by his high-end clientele, many of whom were ushered out before settling their bills. The fire officials, he said, “were screaming, ‘Get out. Get out. Get out.’ But nothing was wrong. They were the ones who could have created panic.” The restaurant was not cited, Balan said, but told to evacuate when the alarm goes off and not to use the smoke machine. was this a socialites-greet-the-masses party? they look great but everyone in the background is either tacky, fat, wearing inappropriate shoes, golden girls florals, or confusing and/or ugly shirts.
Seriously, if anyone reading this is friends with Eleanor please tell her all the horrible things that are being said about her on this board. Things that could be avoided with powder, lipstick, Spanx, a decent colorist and a smile. If the girl could pull those things out of her Earnest Sewn pocket everyone would be able to see her for the stunner that she is.

Eleanor: we don’t want you to look like a painted doll - just highlight all the great things you already have - especially if you are going to be photographed. A little “Tinsley Pink” gloss never killed anyone…try it, please!
Susu what is there to highlight? Her facial features are terrible and totally masculine! Her hair is also way too light for her coloring, she must be in the colorist’s chair every week.

it is sweltering hot in nyc and these girls all still manage to look good. Eleanor is very attractive and natural. I think you are all just slightly jealous. I’m a guy and i find shoshanna and ali the hottest is these pics. Ali has this 1950’s pin-up/sex-kitten thing happening and shioshanna has that sexy smile.
I find Julia to be very hot as well.
