Socialite Minnie Mortimer has been a fixture on the front rows of Fashion Week since she was a teenager. It was only a brief matter of time until she started designing clothes herself, following in the footsteps of her sister-in-law, handbag and clothing designer Tinsley Mortimer.
The anchor of Minnie’s very first collection is her signature shirt-dress. They are made of high-quality cotton and Minnie alone is responsible for the designs. All of the pieces are made in Orange County, California where Minnie is able to oversee their production.
Her line consists of few items right now, including boxers, but a full series of her work will be available for spring/summer 2009. In a couple of weeks, Minnie will also present even more new pieces named after her dear friends and loved ones, including a “Tinsley” dress and a “Dabney” top, the latter of which is named after Tinsley’s sister, Dabney Mercer.
Today is Minnie’s online launch and you can see more of her designs and purchase pieces at her official website. They will also be available at JoliKa, the French boutique that opens today and is owned by Jules Kirby, her friend since their days together at the Indian Mountain School.

Perfect for the Hamptons!! The shirt-dress is something you can just throw on for the day. The red and blue dress is something you could totally wear for the night. And Minnie just looks amazing in these pictures. Brava and wish her the best… these are going to be a hit within our crowd.

I work in the advertising art dept, that’s called retouching.
But I will say it’s probably minimal, and she does look amazing.
