Social ladies can’t get enough of Christian Dior. The French house’s gifted designer, John Galliano, came to New York to present his resort collection to them in a special presentation at Guastavino’s. Dior’s two beauty ambassadors, Tinsley Mortimer and actress Charlize Theron, welcomed guests, including Fabiola Beracasa and Olivia Chantecaille, in their own custom Galliano creations. Editors and socialites there couldn’t get enough of the designer and after champagne and small plates post-show at the venue, they hosted two dinners in his honor downtown, one each at Socialista and La Esquina, and toasted him for the umpteenth time that day at the Beatrice Inn.
Tinsley is officially launching her namesake Dior lip gloss, Tinsley Pink, at the Saks Fifth Avenue flagship store this afternoon. The Park Avenue princess will be on the floor there between 2 and 4 PM today to greet customers.

Tinsley looks like a Barbie doll! The color is really nice on her. Fabiola’s skirt is pretty.

lisa’s dress has a couture quality to it. love fabiola’s skirt with the clean lines. tinsley looks really cute and her makeup is just right. genevieve looks wonderful. the top is perfect!
Wow…I hope for Tinsley’s sake that she is pregnant as I mentioned in my last post because she looks awful….again!

Here’s the weird thing about Lisa - she always looks like she’s trying WAY too hard. Gladiator-styled shoes: check. Head propped up by too many frills: check. Floppy gilding-the-lily bow at the waist: check check. Just because you’re at a Dior party show doesn’t mean you can’t look like yourself. By comparison, look at Georgina or heck even Tinsley. They’re wearing their favorite shoes (lack of buckled be-damned), easy on the frills, lovely appropriate dresses. Perfect.
Dayssi looks terrible. What an absolutely horrendous neckline. The frills are too much, the necklace is too much. And everyone knows by now that I hate those damn shoes. GIve them to Goodwill already.
Fabiola looks fresh and lovely.
Olivia does look very skinny but in this picture it actually becomes her. I love her dress. And I think she always does a good job at keeping the shoes, accessories, hair/make-up etc. complimenting her look rather than looking like a pile-on of trends like Lisa and some of the others.
What is wrong with Genevieve? If I didn’t know better I’d say she had some terrible liver disease and/or was taking Vitamin A supplements with every meal. Her face is the most unnatural shade of orange I’ve ever seen. If I were her, I’d start wearing 50+ SPF every waking moment and fire whoever does my make-up. And her pants are terrible. And it looks like she leaned into the sink too far after washing her hands in the ladies room - a giant wet splotch right across the front of her pants.
They all look cute..but while Olivia’s dress is cute that cut is not for her anorexic frame

Where is Fab living these days? I heard she used to live with her mother but wasn’t THAT being foreclosed too? I have to admire her for her courage to show up at these events.
I am getting really tired of Tinsley’s hair. It’s very aging.

Fabiola - lovely color. She makes some weird choices sometimes but simple, understated looks best.
Daysi - day old spring lettuce
Olivia - so attractive but too bony to wear this paisley mess. Doesn’t matter who the designer is; droopy is droopy.
GJones - the fug girls were right. Is she wearing Depends?
Georgina Chapman - what’s the appeal? She looks like she could have been cast as Tony Soprano’s ex girlfriend.
Marisa, those websites are not socialite websites. In terms of socialites, Tinsley is one of the top beauties. I mean, look at the other girls… we aren’t comparing Slovenian models but WASPS/heiresses. The gene pool (and standards) are quite different. Monticello, the pool of socialites is really quite small so either you should have gotten used to Tinsley, Fabiola, and Amanda by now or you are better off on some Hollywood celebrity website for variety because the only things that change around in NY society are clothes, bags, and shoes!
Don’t be hard on Fabiola. From what I understand, those were all financial decisions made by her mother and step-father. Why make Fabiola pay for her parents’ mistakes, ones that were made when she was just a child or teenager?
Also, it’s not like Fabiola’s only source of income was her Hearst step-father. Her own father went to Le Rosey, is an heir himself to a South American leather goods fortune, and is very wealthy from his own banking interests… so Fabiola will always be taken care of.
What is GJones background, why is she special ? I missed it.
Fabs is a working girl now- let her own her own keep, she’s not 17.
Got to give credit to Lisa; she has to try hard as she didn’t acquire her tastes at Benedictine or the medical centers in Chicago. You’ve come a long way. At least she looks less like a madwoman than she did at the Met.

Ew, Dayssi’s dress is awful, really unflattering, and I swear I wore something similar to my eigth grade dance. It was the early ’90’s and probably seemed “sophisticated,” or something. Also, WTF G-Jones, WTF? Everyine else looks really pretty. Even Lisa, considering.
I am not a fan of Genevieve Jones. I think she is beyond ugly. I have never seen a photo of her that I liked. She has the little body-big head syndrome. I will refer to her as “Bob” short for bobble head Olivia has it also. Very sad.
Fabiola looks amazing, so fresh and healthy looking. It is good to see.
What was wrong with the Rodarte dress Lisa wore to the Met? The theme was “SUPERHEROES” which allowed the ladies to be really adventurous. I think some people here think they know all about fashion but I have my doubts

Genevieve & Georgina Chapman need a spanking. Hate the whole outfit on the first, and hate the jacket on the latter. (I’m not adverse to fur, but the red… & the leopard… is so “working woman who won the lottery” IMHO. Too much of a good thing- unneccasary for a beautiful woman!)
I agree with Jeannie about some people believing they know fashion more than they do. Its better to take risks that are a little wrong than to be always right. It shows some personal style.

I happened to be in Saks while Tinsley was there and I saw her in person…although I have to agree that in pictures she doesn’t always look the best, she is really pretty, very petite, and is gorgeous in person!

Tinsley actually is prettier and shorter in real life. Her nose though, as many have pointed out, is VERY sharp–it looks as though she can cut glass with that thing.

If you grew up in Manhattan and went to any elite school or went to boarding school it’s a given that you can cut a line with your nose, particularly when you’re hanging out at Club D’s… not true if you’re nose is buried in a book. Tins is no exception, nor is Dabs. We’re still in the 80’s as far as that goes. Who cares?

This is the second time I read such a naive comment with regards to red toe nail polsih. Red is a classic, refined colour for toes. See french women. Palm Beach ladies choose coral which I find not all so flattering and rather predictable for older ladies. Pale pink is to Cali yawn or that hideous French pedicure is tacky as sin!!
Would someone please explain why/how GJ is invited to functions? Why is she photographed? Who is she?

I must commend GJ for one shining accomplishment: The WORST outfit that I have EVER seen on this site. She needs to be demoted quickly out of the gal-about-town group and go back to the gal-about-the-crackhouse group. She could really shine in that environment.

In reply to Laura Lord Belle - Being from Cali - I use neither pink polish or that nasty french manicure. Actually I use no polish at all; just a good buffing. Polish and the remover are extremly bad for the environment.
But if I was to use polish and since I’m over 35; I would use the sexiest red I could find.

Anna, i disagree. i have a big head and no matter how think i got my waist would never be the same size as my head– it’s out of proportion hate to tell you. Fabs looks plain odd. Her body shape is odd is what i mean. Now, her makeup and cheek implants, and occasional fashion choices- fabulous.

Just curious, what IS the PROPER color to wear on your toes this Spring?? According to Vogue bright pinks, reds, orange reds are very ‘in’. Bare just looks nasty to my and French is oh so 90’s. Seems like most of the ladies in this circle wear red or a bright color. It shouldn’t be that ’serious’ of an issue in my opinion. . .as long as we don’t have to look at your panties. ; )

Savannah, considering that Tinsley is the beauty ambassador of DIOR and she’s at a DIOR fashion show, you should assume that she (and everyone else) is wearing DIOR. It’s a major faux pas to NOT wear Dior, especially when John Galliano himself is there.

There’s something VERY wrong with a doctor more interested in being at every event and photographed at every event than working on her medical creds. She’s clearly very insecure and socially driven. I rather go to a doctor who is in PRINT for medical accolades than designer dresses she wears. She needs to stay home one eve.
