Pronovias, the Spanish bridal house, opened their first boutique in Manhattan with grand social fanfare (literally, the ladies were in such Iberian spirits that they danced with fans). The fashion company is sponsoring the charity’s fall gala and stalwart supporters of the philanthropy, including Dayssi Olarte de Kanavos and Ivanka Trump, made sure to show. Fellow patrons, sisters Tinsley Mortimer and Dabney Mercer, stopped by the festivity after attending the nearby opening of British auctions firm Bonhams.
And speaking of brides, Alexis Bryan just left for Houston for her weekend wedding to Spencer Morgan. Like another recent Texas bride, Jenna Bush, Alexis will don Oscar de la Renta down the aisle under the auspices of her father’s girlfriend, Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour.

All the girls are so stunning and fresh looking and then you get to tweedledee and tweddledum. The look tired just as those outfits and Tinsley’s “BAG”, as usual, look cheap and worn.
The longer they are in New York, the more they look middle America.
Lydia F looked stunning! She always makes great clothing choices, unlike Stephanie LaCava.
Lydia and Stephanie are the only ones who look terrible. Not a flattering picture of Tinsley (or many of the others) but I suppose that is the point of posting them.
I think Dayssi could have been a 10 had it not been for the Bronxian red-nailed peep toe. Too trashy for my taste, but to each her own I suppose.
I don’t think anyone pulls of pants as well as Zani. She always look terrific in them. That is not easy to do - you have to have exactly the right body or you end up looking either like a clown on stilts (like Byrdie or Lydia would) or a short squat Tweedledum (like just about everyone else would). Pants are tough.

Ivanka steals the show - she is a beauty - yes, the “sistahs” have lost their luster. I love Lydia’s dress and AP looks very pretty.
Lydia looks like a circus freak. She’s too petite for such a tight dress, scraped-back hair, and her pelvis ground into another woman to look otherwise than a Soviet circus performer. Eew.
I disagree, Prole- Lydia Hearst looks really cute! Its not her fault she’s short! She makes it work. She looks tre “model”.
Lydia Fenet hit the right notes as well… She looks great.
Daysi’s dress is ill-fitting- and the jacket would look snazzy on a grandmother. At a wedding. Bleh. Her frame is too broad to make that work.

And Lydia still just looks like she’s trying way too hard. And now with the Tinsley pose too…. geez. She REALLY wants to be “somebody” and is now resorting to trying other’s tricks to get there. I don’t even know this girl, but she just seems so desperate.

SLC never had any style, ever since she began in the accessories department under Michelle Kessler who was then Accessories Director. She has managed though to move on up. Just a good example to all of you who want to work in the industry. I say “Go for it!”.
Stephanie is 25 or 26. Has anyone ever thought that Stephanie dresses that way at events only to get us rattled up? I have seen Stephanie at non-photographed events and she always looks quite chic… it just seems that anytime she thinks she’ll be on PAP, she dresses ridiculously. Hey, some attention is better than no attention, right? (Worked for Steph’s friend Byrdie Bell…)
Ivanka is stunning. What a glow and her figure is so healthy. One of the Mercer sisters, Dabney, is so thin. I wonder if she had a boob job because her body is so teeny tiny and her rack is far from it. And yes, Tinsley is wearing the same Miu Miu dress that Genevieve wore months ago…
For what it is worth, it’s really unfair to call Dayssi’s toenails “Bronxian.” Tinsley Mortimer herself has her toenails painted red. But she comes off as a Virginia deb/polished UES wife while Dayssi comes off as “Bronxian.” Why? Because Dayssi is from Queens and Tinsley wears cable-knit sweaters at the Maidenstone.

Certain people just look for any reason to criticize Dayssi….her looks, her background, her history here in Manhattan. She’s highly educated, she married her husband for love, they forged themselves a successful business and family life….they have a good life. Some people accept her for who she is and respect her; others are probably just envious and have to slam her to make themselves feel better.
I never realized Lydia has thunder thighs also where is Fabioa I have been missing her.

There really isn’t anything new to say about Tinsley and Dabney. Sort of same old, same old, don’t you think? It really might be time to cut the hair and try a little different look. Is it possible to look fluffy and sophisticated at the same time?

Dabney might be the prettier Mercer sister but Tinsley is the social one and that’s what counts. If Dabney didn’t have Tinsley, then she might as well be just another Laird IMHO.
I think Tins needs to retouch the roots a bit and definitely the brows. I get she likes the platinum hair/ darker roots look but it’s getting worse. Also i concur with everyone above (yes, we ALL agree!) that Tins and Dabs looks ridiculously young and just off-base. Hair too young, look too familiar, etc. Ragged.
Zani does look good as much as i thought navy and black dont go- though i like the color mix personally.
And Dayssi, what else is there to say– cankles, and the nude shoes dont do any favors as they do for mose women’s legs. She just looks ridiculous.

Does anyone else think Stephanie is like a secret hardcore anorexic/bulimic? Her face is so shrunken, her hair is so thinned out, and she looks like under her clothes she may be disappearing faster than Jennifer Jason Leigh in that tv-movie from years ago about the anorexic girl.

I’ve always been a fan of Tins (not so much her sis) but you all are right…those dresses look very H&M. I’m from Texas and those are the dresses I see girls wear down here everytime I go out. I know us southerners are alway a little behind the curve, which is why I agree that the sister’s need a wardrobe overhaul!!!

and i still do not get the zani mania….speaking of hair that drives people nuts…her hair drives me nuts…its lifeless and thin, and styled terribly….because a girl that has a forehead that large should not be wearing her hair the way zani does…..such a pretty girl…and her hair and forehead take away from her face.
More on Zani - she may need a haircut, but she always looks effortlessly elegant. THAT’s a hard look to achieve but she does it every time. Probably that she’s tall and thin contributes to her success, but I’m impressed by her. Plus she seems very warm and friendly — in photos at least. Never met the girl.
