Tinsley’s Six April 2, 2008

Tinsley Mortimer is on the cover of Page Six Magazine, the glossy fashion and culture periodical of the New York Post. (Above, if you click on an image, you will be redirected to a larger scan of it.) The socialite authored a chapter in “The Park Avenue Diet,” out this month and published by Random House.
Dior Beauty is launching their Ultra-Gloss Reflect in Tinsley Pink, a color in honor of and created by their brand ambassador, and a portion of the product’s sales will be donated to her charity of choice, Operation Smile.

Gorgeous!
the pictures are fierce… go tins, you look great.
I really wish they would put Page Six Magazine online. Thank you for posting this! Tinsley looks so great. I love this line… “Be honest. Be positive. Smile.” Excellent advice but not every girl has her beauty and glamour factor!
Great!
she looks incredible, and i am no tinsley fan
She looks fantastic, but the tone of the article certainly isn’t very generous towards her. Who isn’t happier being ten pounds lighter?
She looks pretty , but why they always pick tinsrey…?
Let’s be honest, she’s not the most beautiful one of park avenue princesses! +she’s not even real socialite. she really comes from humble beginnings….. i know for a fact.
well.. maybe she’s nice..
I just glanced at this article; the pictures are lovely. Am I reading this correctly though? She admits to bingeing and purging? I realize this is a “necessity” for women in the public eye because, gawd forbid, someone is larger than a size 2. It’s a stupid thing to do although at least Tinsely is honest about it. I guess the chapter about the Park Avenue Diet is fairly short.
This seems like a sad thing to “have” to do, doesn’t it?
Great article but I thought there would be more “tips” about how they all stay so slim. I mean, she can’t be size 2 eating bacon every day. Hoodia perhaps?
She seems like a nice person, and she is honest about her body. Although I’ve seen her in jeans and think she looks great.
Wonder who else will be featured in the book
I think by saying “I get it out of my system” she means the cravings. She’ll cave in to the cravings to get it out of her system, and then be good the next day.
Whoa ! I have to admit Tins looks hot ! And not one pose with her trademark legs crossed ! Ye Ha!
Woops ! After further inspection I have to take back that whole legs crossed pose statement ….. My bad !
I don’t know Tinsley and kind of became aware of her around 2004 so I guess that is 4 years, but it seems to me that in recent years, Tinsley has gotten more attractive and more comfortable in her own skin, finding a style and look that works for her–and embracing it by being honest and real, not the whole “Oh I eat whatever I want and keep it off by running after my dogs,” line…
Once a person feels good about who you she is and what she has accomplished on her own terms (and Tinsley is a dynamo), it becomes easier to take care of ones-self. I doubt she binges and purges, or else she would not feel comfortable opening up in a story like this. That kind of behavior normally has a shame/closet factor that people aren’t comfortable sharing.
Ok, Jemma, that makes sense but her comment could be interpreted a couple of ways. (Wonder if it was edited to seem a certain way?) She sounds like a very nice, smart, southern girl who is comfortable in her own skin. Good for her!
I read this article and never, ever would have thought she meant binging and purging.
Cannes, are you Colleen? Wondered where you’ve been. I”m no Tinz fan either but she looks great - like a real model and her body is rocking.
The article was terrible, badly written and disjointed. Made NO SENSE. Pics were fine.
Wow!! Tins looks fabulous. I really like her lips with a bit more color, though. Also, to that idiot above, who obviously doesn’t even speak English as a first language–no, you don’t know. There is not one person here in Richmond who doesn’t know that Tins comes from just about the most priviledged background you could. She was our
debutante leader, lived in a ginormous old Gone with the Wind type house, is a Thomas Jefferson descendant. Actually, the whole Mercer family was really good looking. Dabney is a real beauty. The girls look more like the Dad but the dark haired mother was one of the prettiest women in Richmond. I wonder what she looks like now.
I love how you are all gushing like it is Vanity Fair or something, it is a tabliod magazine free with a rag paper. ha ha
“sharply pretty face” = TRES horsey
and since are bugs bunny front teeth as viewed through parted thin lips viewed as remotely sexy?!?! uck.
She “seems” like a great girl. It’s so hard to say nowadays when everyone has PR behind them. I do LOVE how Peter is brought in to say all the really crude things that you know Tinsley says when there isn’t a camera in the room and she has to be “nice.” Very smart of her. The whole family appears to be in on this enterprise.
I don’t know Tinsley but she comes across as a sweet girl who gets a lot of flack for being true to herself. I think she says things that other people would not ever say out loud – especially to a reporter – but I think that goes back to her honesty statement. She seems like she has nothing to hide and is unapologetic to haters who can’t see that she doesn’t care about conforming. I think she has great style and the natural ability to captivate people – good or bad. That being said, she could be twins with Ali Larter on Heroes.
Tinsley looks amazing! I love the fashion. The LV shoes in the opener are to die for! I love the Herve Leger dress on her as it highlights her assets
really well. Also love the Gosford dress at the end… the hair is phenom. So pretty. Go Tinsley!
Downtowner, I completely agree with you which is why I was surprised about the possibility. The article was poorly written but the pictures are lovely.
Regardless of how one feels about her crossed legs and hair, she does seem very comfortable with herself. It’s refreshing and encouraging to know being nice and having good manners still counts for something these days!
I’m always curious about their stats, like height and weight. I know size 2 gives you some idea and the author did say she looks tinier in person (which is always the case) but I would love to know how much these girls weigh. Guesses anyone?
Tinsley looks 110 or less, not sure about the others.
She looks really hot in every shot and comes off as very charming in the article. Brava Tins, let’s see more like this!
I finally squinted and read the whole article and I love this girl now.
She looks good.
thank you for posting this!! we don’t get page six mag here and it’s nice to see my favorite socialite, tinsley, all dolled up! and my, having dior create a color after you… sounds like any girl’s dream!
she looks really good and my hunch about her being just a sweet girl from a good family is true after all! also loved the virginia spread she did a few months ago.
p.s. i didn’t even notice how large her engagement rock was until now. i love it… yellow diamond, princess cut, in a platinum setting and white diamond lining… so pretty!
I think Tinz is adorable. I agree with another poster that it is refreshing that she admits she watches what she eats and works out to maintain her figure. She may not be the prettist on park ave (although not far behind the lead) but Tinz is creating a brand, i.e., herself, and marketing it very successfuly by the looks of it! BUT, I really, really, really hope that she DOES NOT do a reality TV show. Much as I like her and have idle curiousity about her life, I think that reality TV is totally cheesy and not what a person attempting to portray a classy image would want on their resume. Besides, what would Topper think??? Anyhoo, there’s my two-cents on the matter for what its worth!
She looks really beautiful! LOVE the last picture.
Darn cute!!! Cheerleader cute - great little body - and she let “Petah” do her talking - keeping it in the family - her Mom is pinched looking brunnete with lop-sided smile -
That’s a good call. She is very cheerleader cute. However, she was a nationally ranked tennis star in her teens instead.
She has built a brand… not one of Samantha Thavasa’s celebrity designers have created their own clothing line with the company let alone have ST create stand-alone stores for them. Dior Beauty created a color, named after her. An investment group is giving her an office in Trump Tower to tell them how to bring her style to their buildings. And she’s authoring a chapter in a book. She is working hard and I really respect her for turning all of this attention into something tangible for herself.
#34 agree…she is hard working girl and I admire her for her southern “chutzpah”
OK I have grown to love this gal. Why are socialites only considered ‘real’ if they were born into money? Isn’t is more of an accomplishment to have made something of yourself now? It isn’t 1952.
#19: thank you but I do believe most posters on this board know the difference between yellow journalism (the “Post”
and “Vanity Fair.” But thanks anyway…we’ll let you know when we all need another clarification.
#20: care to share any of your pics?
#7: your info is dead wrong and you are an idiot.
Again, Tinsely looks terrific. But can we re-think that whole “southern” stereotype? I’m a true, born-and-bred Yankee living in the South and I find that reference to be tired and dated. Most Southern women are very well educated and quite wordly and I rather doubt most of you would want to cross a Southern lady!
I think she looks pretty chunky in these pictures, especially her arms in the pic on the steps…..also in the Herver Leger dress. Better step away from the dominos for a while. Sorry but I don’t think she looks that great here.
#37 PLs get over yourself….ZZZZZZZZZ - you are a royal PITA on this board -
Hot damn ……. the blue shoes have no straps on them !
But she has to sit down to wear ‘em. hahaha
Yaaaay …. pretty hair again.
#37: I live to be a pain on this board!
#41…how very very sad….
Is she expecting?
Brooke (#39), No need to be so prickly!
look at the pic of her in the strapless dress, all the way to the bottom of the page. at least she admits to being pear shaped. must have been too many late nights with the dominos delivery man… hmm…
wow…. why isn’t anyone mentioning her teeth?? they look grey and weird… not what i would expect from NYC’s “IT” socialite!
Dillard’s dpt store has an ad of a girl promoting their designer clothing that could be tinsley….she is taller and her face looks a bit
longer…….but when I saw this ad…….I thought it was Tinsley. I think
she needs to see this spread…..she will be suprised that someone
in Little Rock Ar….picked someone that looks identical to do a major ads for the co.
This article disgusts me. She is not thinner at “the top then the bottom”, she is just WAY TOO THIN all over. These are the type of women who add nothing to our society and shouldn’t be celebrated for inspiring other girls into unhealthy behaviors.
sorry, but IMO she isn’t “gorgeous” or “stunning”…
Brooke - If you really think that I live for this board…lighten up AND get a sense of humor!
#44 - thanks!!
#48-
“Then” is an adverb referring to time.
“Than” is used in comparisons.
smarterTHANyou????
Yes, she is a bit thinner at “the top THAN the bottom”
but I don’t think she is way too thin. She isn’t obsessed
with working out and eating healthy all the time- she’s
normal. TM is petite and I think you’re going too far when
you say that she’s inspiring other girls into unhealthy behaviors.
I don’t get it. I’m starting to think some people here really hate ON her, rather than just hate her. She admits to working on her body (doesn’t claim its natural.) She admits to pigging out sometimes, but getting back to good eating habits. (Not EXACTLY binging & purging, IMO… hell, I do this sometimes, too!) She admits to liking to be smaller. WHO DOESN’T?!
This article made me like her a WHOLE lot more. I never understood the Tinsley craze, but she comes off honest & sweet, and that’s not something that one JUST sees in pictures. She doesn’t make anything she does seem overly important, and harps on being a “good” person.
I’m sorry, I like her now…
Up close, she is really pretty. I appreciate her for calling herself bottom-heavy… someone like Victoria Beckham, who is, in fact, bottom-heavy, would not even admit to that. The one impression I had of her from this article was that she seems like a really sweet, good person.
People who say she looks chunky really scare me… . and that Victoria Beckham is a pear shape. Wow, whose body do you approve of– that 55 lb anorexic woman on the cover of London Daily Mail? Tinsley does not look pear shaped in the strapless dress pic–it is impossible to tell anything from that picture with the black dress and black background. It is pretty hard to pull off Herve Leger and she looks amazing.
that is amazing she is doing so much… i like a lady that can turn party pictures into actual work/contracts! go tins!
Downtowner - she does look chunky in the picture on the steps and it is more than just her arms. I have always said that the reason she does that cross legged pose is to try to conceal her heavy thighs and these pictures prove my point. Her legs are heavy in both the black pants and the Leger dress.
#50 I think from your following comments you have an odd sense of humor
“I don’t have to kiss anyone for anything, you silly cow. As stated in my previous entry, “…ill-bred, ill-mannered…” #7: your info is dead wrong and you are an idiot. WHEW!!!! silly cow and idiot…your Mama taught you manners????
I wish I could be TM’s chunky - she looks pretty damn good to me but I need to lose 20 lbs - and very appealing in article -
#33 Brooke, You are so wrong about the impression you gave about Tinsley’s mother. She is a beautiful woman, who takes care of herself and her friends, is thin like Tinsley, has beautiful thick brown hair, wears designer clothes, has the youngest looking skin for her age, (has used Retin A since it first came out) and she is smart, and is currently getting her Master’s degree at Harvard, while she runs a full time interior design business . You can see where Tinsley gets her drive to work hard. Maybe it would be fun for James to put photos of the mothers of some of these girls on this site just so we can get an idea of what the Socials will look like when they are older.
I’m trying to figure out why this is. It’s PAGE SIX for goodness sake! Not Vogue, T&C, W or any legit magazine. I guess this is more proof that the true socialite is a dying breed.
Dearest Brooke: You just don’t get it, do you? I am not the only person on this board who finds your comments inane. You consistently take cheap shots at people you don’t know, presume all kinds of stupidity on the part on others (whom you also don’t know) and seem to be the first to take the low road. If you take the time to review #7’s comments, you might better understand why I wrote what I did. That comment is nothing but a cheap shot with nothing to back it up. And that’s easy to do on an anonymous blog. And what do “good manners” have to do with any of these postings?
A good posting has intelligent thought behind it and is clearly written. Try it for a change.
If Tinsley Mortimer is pear shaped, then I should just lay down and die right here and now. Beautiful (and accomplished) people will always have detractors. Perhaps the fact that so many people are squabbling about the minutia of Ms. Mortimer’s life is a indication that she is indeed successfully pursuing her goals (whatever they may be).
All concerns about the way Tinz is destroying the Mortimer name aside, I will be the first to admit that as hard as I’ve tried to deny it, reading this blurb made me a teensy bit jealous. She really does have it all in many ways. She also looks great (although she could use a little more lip color). Good for her. I did feel like the content of this piece was all info we’ve heard a MILLION times before in a dozen other magazines (German InStyle, anyone?).
Awesome photos of Tinsley. Page Six is a cool magazine.
Thanks James, great post.
I have been a reader of this site since the beginning and I have noticed that there are certain people who love nothing better then to be nasty. We can all see through the jealousy and hate. It gets kind of old after a while.
Cannes.. unless you really know Tinsley’s family (which I suspect you do not) give up these outrageous comments. How many times do we need to go on about her family background before you understand that Tinsley is not from
“humble beginnings” I am getting bored of it all.
Brooke… You sound cheap and angry. I feel sorry for you, and before you start throwing insults my way don’t bother because I am so above hateful stupidity
Tinsley IS gorgeous, but for some reason the photo of her reclining on the stairs makes her arms look so short! She’s considerably more slender in person and in photos, so what’s up with the image?
She looks like Sharon Tate.
Tins looks the BEST I’ve ever seen her @ the bluemercury event on PMC.. pleeeease post James! Tins in jeans, looking fresh and so little cross-leg! Also, seeing as her feet remain in the same positioning whether she crosses her legs or not, I will say the pose IS requisite.
she needs to start using her right nostril to even things out
i once found tinsley irrelevant, self-aggrandizing, passably attractive, and talentless. while she’s still great advertising for trait #2 and her bags are, well, pedestrian, i have to say that i’m responding to the media saturation so well that i actually think she’s pretty and admire her amazing talent to promote herself successfully. she’s the socialite’s madonna, who couldn’t sing, dance (sorry, folks, those moves were warmed-over whitebread passing for street), act, or look pretty and became the biggest female act of the 90s.
go tins.
#69 well said - I may find some of her “interviews” silly but endearingly silly. I think she is a pretty girl, too.
#64 - Jeannie - thanks for what I think may be a bit of backing for me. I, too, am tired of the mean comments and nasty tone of some of these bloggers. My comments aren’t meant to be mean but are meant to point out that meaness and nastiness. I don’t want to be construed as the patron saint of PAP but I do think that comments should be thoughtful and funny. This is NOT brain surgery, people! But some of you are way out of line and just don’t have a point to make. So, take a minute to think before you type, please!
#71…you post to what???? enlighten us??? silly girl!!!
I look way thinner when I eat only laxatives and twizzlers.
