Gorgeous ladies, including Kiera Chaplin and Elettra Rossellini Wiedemann, poured onto the third floor of Barney’s New York to witness Donatella Versace exclusively launch her Versace menswear collection. Donatella has previously held private luncheons in honor of the same society women at her Fifth Avenue flagship before and invited some to the intimate celebration dinner that night at the apartment of Barney’s chief executive in Soho.
Recent Fordham graduate Amanda Hearst left New York for Spain yesterday. The media heiress is touring the country with her friend, Annie Berkery, and will be living in Madrid for three months working for the Hearst publication, Cosmopolitan en Español.
Vanity Fair fashion editor Alexis Bryan is pregnant with her first child with fiance Spencer Morgan, the New York Observer columnist. The descendant of Stephen Fuller Austin, known as the father of Texas, and the grandson of “M*A*S*H” actor Harry Morgan are planning for a summer wedding as their bundle of joy is expected in the fall. Alexis’s friends can’t stop from gushing about all of her good news!

Don’t these girls just get tired of doing the same thing over and over and over and over again. I get that it is fun to see your friends and get dressed up for events - but most of these girls are in their late 20’s/30’s. Didn’t you get enough of that in college? When you first graduated? Do any of these girls have aspirations for family? For something more tangible than getting their faces in pictures?
#3, You must be new here. No, they never get tired of this! They are socialites. Why should they? And, if you actually read the post, you would learn that Alexis is starting a family… she is getting married and having a baby… congrats to her and Spencer!

Amanda is personally one of my favorites and it is sad to learn that I won’t see her picture for so many months! Kiera is a gem. And from what I can see of it, I like Fabiola’s black dress a lot.
Amanda is the epitome of what a 21st century socialite should be!
Elettra is naturally gorgeous. The Prada shoes are perfect. Byrdie looks… interesting. Nice Chanel bag.
However, Tinsley blows it out of the water here… she looks great!
That is such good news about Alexis and Spencer. Congratulations to both on the baby and the wedding in a few months.
Good for Amanda. While I will be sad she is leaving New York, it is nice to hear her work for the family and use her college degree.

I think everyone looks fantastic. I love Amanda’s look and Byrdie has such unique style. I love it. Tinsley looks cute and fun and Elettra is absolutely gorgeous. She looks a little like Eleanor Y to me. Anyone else see it? Is that tattoo on Kiera real?
I am fully aware I’ll get slammed for this and called old-fashioned and I swear I’m not really 82, but, I don’t know… this isn’t Hollywood. It’s New York. Shotgun weddings are still shotgun weddings. Whatever happened to a quiet morning wedding the moment you find out the news? To make a big spectacle of it is just tacky.
I suspect 99% of the people who comment on the photos are actually in the photos themselves . . . it would actually explain a lot.
Why is Alexis having a bastard child?
Well, maybe not a bastard child, but isn’t it customary for women to become pregnant AFTER the wedding?

Everyone looks so pretty and springy… except Alexis. Way too blah and boring for this time of year. You’re expecting - wear some pastel and own it. Plus, it never looks good when your face matches your outfit. Never wear grey in the first trimester. And until the preggo glow kicks in, blush and lipstick is a must!
Tinsley is too cute for words, she looks stunning. Anyone think she lost weight?? She looks smaller every time I see her.

It’s not an illegitimate child. The parents are marrying before baby Morgan is born. They had a whirlwind romance…she and Spencer have obviously known each other for many years as they are part of the NYC media. Had no idea she was related to Austin… interesting fact!
Sloane and Horace, you both need to get real. Who cares anymore…marriage is a somewhat idiotic convention, anyway. Go bible thump someplace else; this is hardly the forum for that!
I guess there are two schools of thought about this: if the baby was obviously conceived before the wedding, the couple can choose to play dumb and let everyone discuss it behind their back (and perhaps even fuel the fire by not acknowledging it). Or, they can put it out there for what it is, which is brash in the short run but may eliminate chatter and snarkiness in the long run. I can never decide which is better.

Instead of bashing her on her day of good news, like some of you have, I will instead praise her… she looks gorgeous and her work in Vanity Fair is great. I wish her and Spencer all the happiness in the world as they start a family together. Congratulations Alexis!

Oh, I think we have learned that a lot of the high end “escorts” look more like your average Jersey shore girl than a bottle blonde.
Alexis was just introduced to Spencer last July, by George Gurley. They have not known each other for years.
Obviously they’re getting married because she is preggers. Don’t must people wait until they’re three months to announce it? It’s perfect timing with their engagement in December.
Alexis will not be the first pregnant bride in history. Think of the child and stop worrying about who says what to whom. Perhaps this is not the choice that any of you (particularly you, Sloane - your posting is one of your more unpleasant remarks) would make but - again - think of the baby. I can only wish them the best and hope for a healthy baby.
To #23 - I have to agree with you. I’ve never been in this particular situation but I think I would protect my child first and let the gossip fly. The hell with ‘em!
Almost forgot - Tinsley looks fabulous again as does Amanda. Byrdie is just OK - that turned-in toe pose looks silly. And Fabiola looks especially glamorous and glowing.
I doubt this is exactly the ideal scenario any little girl would have envisioned for herself when conjuring up the day her engagement and, three months later, subsequent news of expecting a child being announced would follow.
And I’m guessing Papa Shelby was none too thrilled at the outset. However, they are adults and they’ll deal with it. And they might even be, (gasp!), happy with the outcome. Maybe, maybe not.
We can shut it if doesn’t please our archaic sensibilities of the order in which these things ought to unfold. Obviously, these things SHOULD play out in a certain order. Should, according to some rules made up by our forebears that SOME of us still follow. Too bad.
There’s a precious child of God involved now. Get over it.

I feel like the “archaic sensibilities” have their place, but can also go to hell, depending on one’s comfort zone. But it seems a bit obnoxious to flaunt it all in Page Six and announce things so publicly. And since she did, she opened herself up to commentary.
At the end of the day, it’s great that she’s excited and that her friends are being supportive. It’s too bad she can’t get her color palette (hair, skin, makeup, dress) on track…
Dear Texan: thank you! Finally, someone with some common sense on this board. That sweet baby is the priority, not a bunch of ill-mannered, ill-bred, gossiping idiots with nothing better to do than point fingers. Seriously, I would love to know how many of you saved yourselves till marriage. My guess is zero. Accidents happen, cut the girl some slack. It’s nice that they are actually trying to follow protocol at this point and not just pretend that the new conventional family is a single mother trying to raise a child while the father is out with some other hoochie (like the Bridgette/Tom/Giselle triangle, and many many others in Hollywood) She got preggers, the guy proposed, and hopefully there will be a mother/father who are wife/husband by the time the child is born and they will all live happily ever after. If not, at least they tried.

IMHO, I don’t like blondes in yellow, but that is just me. For whoever asked about Tins’ looking extra slim, did you read Page 6 magazine this weekend? She mentions she enjoys being 10 lbs lighter.

I think it is fine. it’s not like Alexis tricked Spencer into marrying her by getting pregnant, a la Mrs Villency. They were already engaged. Also, she is the one with the money, not him.
Was an unusually fast courtship, however, especially since she went out with Colm for years.

I hope that people outside of NY understand that there are so many women that outclass this lot…The people that are truely in, have little or nothing to do with these climbers. Once in a while someone pops up that is the sort, but it is happening less and less..

Why isn’t the upcoming birth of a baby something to make a splash over? They obviously want the baby, so congratulations to them! Cynics who can’t be happy for people who are excited to bring a new life into the world are the saddest sort out there.
