Social ladies came bundled to the Earnest Sewn boutique in the Meatpacking District to view the latest in luxe denim: the Alhambra jean, a new style that is the product of a collaboration between Earnest Sewn and the jewelry house of Van Cleef & Arpels. These jeans come in two wash varieties and both feature the classic Van Cleef four-leaf clover design on the pants’s back right pocket. Eleanor Ylvisaker, a founding partner of the denim company, had all of her close friends, including Shoshanna Lonstein Gruss, Byrdie Bell, Maggie Betts, and Topper and Tinsley Mortimer, attend the unveiling. The guests ended their night with a quiet dinner nearby at the Waverly Inn.

Tinsley, as always, is so cute. I love Byrdie’s outfit and Shoshanna can never commit a wrong!
Maggie’s complexion is really nice in this picture… as is Tinsley’s perfect makeup. I really like Byrdie’s tie top and I think she highlighted her hair again, which looks good.
Sara Moonves is a really sweet girl… glad to see her take her socialite place. Nice bag.
I actually like Tinsley’s look. A kind of conservative look but still young. I love Byrdie’s top and am jealous of her for having it… I could easily pair it with another nice Prada vest.

Aw, Eleanor is back. I think it is important to mention that Eleanor just does NOT wear makeup, now, then, or ever. That said… she looks cute! I like her natural style. The hair is fine!
Tinsley’s loose curls are good for her. It frames her face well.
Maggie’s jacket, top, and jeans are all cut well. She looks fresh!
~Maggie looked like she had a good night’s sleep. Love it. She’s got that Rosario Dawson quality- not pretty, but sexy in some way, and interesting to look at. Good job.
~Taylor Momson looks very age appropiate, but I always feel like she’s wearing too much. Let your natural beauty do the talking!
~Not feeling the Tinz this time… the dress makes her look kinda dumpy, or something. Too little girl playing dress-up for me.

I can’t even believe that Taylor is 14. Eleanor looks good and yes, it is well known that she doesn’t wear makeup or do anything too crazy with her hair. I think she looks nice here.

Yaylor is the girl from Gossip Girl right?, Is she fourteen years old?, Is she a socialite?. Well, It would be better to have Leighton or Blake on this site, they are hotter. New girls are in the social scene, I think Jennifer Missoni is doing great. I wonder if this site will some day care about Latin American socilites, there are many and they deserve a chance, Mexico city, Buenos Aires, Rio de Janeiro and aven Bogota is full of pretty girls with social skills.
Taylor is NOT a socialite. She’s just “actress”…just a very bad one..

Eleanor can still be a natural girl with some style. Some cherry Chapstick a little mascara and a sleek ponytail would do wonders for her.
Tinz looks ridiculous. Taylor has a vague whiff of Russian prostitute turned mobster’s wife. This Sara girl, I don’t know, but she’s very cute and looks like she might actually have a personality.

Her self-proclaimed style of dressing like a little girl just seems completely out of touch.

Yes, finally! Eleanor comes out of hiding. She is like Minnie, Aerin, and the rest in refusing makeup! All the more power to her in my opinion.
I actually love Earnest Sewn and Van Cleef so I can’t wait to check out these new jeans.

Tinsley looks like she’s wearing vintage Zac Posen. It’s a cute dress! Byrdie looks like a giant compared to Tins though. Love Miss Bell’s skinny jeans.

chilangolandia! great name. There are plenty of Latin American socialites buzzing through NYC, but they mostly buzz THROUGH.
Tinsley is simply incapable of wearing trousers or any kind of suit set (because I have never seen her in such). This consuming dress is the next best (and warmest) thing.
Byrdie looks charming. The hair, makeup, and the trademark smile… pretty. Her blouse is very cute.
Upon closer inspection, Maggie’s windbreaker is cut so geometrically and I like the little side ruffles quite a bit.
I love Sara’s bag. I own one by Prada just like it.

Well, of course I read CARAS, but It would be interesting that sometimes PAP let us know about the social scene in some other parts of the world, Russia for example, the social scene is being huge, it deserves attention. And what about the Chinesse girls?, if there is money there must be socialites…and of course we cannot forget the amazing and unique European League with big names such as Charlotte Casiraghi, Camila Al-Fayed and Petrina Khasoggi….please “Chilangolandia”, expand your horizons =)

Is it just me or do Byrdie and Tinsley look uncomfortable in this picture? They are gorgeous women but they look rather fake; like neither one really wants to be standing next to the other.
Maggie doesn’t know how to dress.
JAM: There’s plenty of information out there about the European girls. As for China and Russia, given enough time, their social scenes may mature into something interesting to outside observers. James has developed a great niche covering NY — why should he switch focus?

If Eleonor refuses to wear makeup, then she should refuse to color her hair. She’d look much better.
Tinsley looks awful! Wow. Didn’t she hear sack dresses are out? I’ve always thought she was a little behind the fashion curve so I guess I’m not surprised. But when’s the last time someone seriously wore lace like that? Madonna in the 80’s? It looks like Betsy Johnson.
Eleanor always looks the same. Shiny and surprised. It’s a little strange if you ask me.

i too would like the site link to CARAS, if possible. JAM I totally agree w you. Chilandola or whatever– James can just choose to include some of these socials, just as he has had some london socials included in the past. I believe that is all JAM is asking.
And for those praising Eleanor’s makeup-ban as so so chic– I think it is very presumptuous to just go out and not wear makeup. To me (I’m just stating my own opinion here) it seems as if one is saying to the world, “i am so gorgeous so why oh why on earth would i add cosmetics to my face or styling to my hair! pshaaa!”
And truly i think only the very few (and mostly brunette/ dark-variety skin/hair-toned) can pull that look off. Sadly the NY Socials who attempt this look so as to make it *their thing* do not look that chic or put together when they do. It is usually the clothes/ figures or accessories that make these women look good, clearly not their faces.
(Although on the other hand you have caricatured 30-somethings like Tinsley walking around, so I just don’t know where the middle of the road should be!)
