Natura Bisse threw an end-of-summer dinner in honor of Cristina Cuomo, their American ambassador, at the Meadow Club in Southampton. Cristina’s friends Tory Burch, Gigi Mortimer, Shoshanna Lonstein Gruss, Valesca Guerrand-Hermès, Alex Kramer, Dayssi Olarte de Kanavos, Holly Peterson, Jamie Tisch, Fernanda Niven, now of Vera Wang, and Gigi Howard, the former paramour of the Crown Prince of Spain and current Natura Bisse public relations director, toasted Cristina late in the evening.
Alex Kramer is fresh from just finishing a new collection for the designer Carlos Miele. Dayssi, after the Dolce & Gabbana presentation, traded her sandals and came with her husband Paul; Cristina kept close to her husband Chris, receiving her guests in the club’s main room.

I love Tory Burch. She always looks great.
I want Gigi’s hair color. Mortimer Blond. Tinsley has about the same color.

very good to see gigi howard make her return to new york. that southern deb was scared by all the paparazzi attention she got in nyc when she dated prince felipe.. she looks wonderful, as tall and blonde as ever.
i like cristina’s dress and tory’s look sans the necklace-collar she has. gigi mortimer makes those fabrics work with the right accessories. alex looks warm, as opposed to her usual stance of cold and scary.

disagree completely. gigi looks like a bad boho trainwreck and her skin-tone is painful - too long in the waist and so red red red. man face too.

Anon, Holly and Gigi are wearing cotton pants and jeans with a strange cuff….isn’t that even more “under-dressed” and “unacceptable for dinner” than Shoshanna’s and Dayssi’s dresses? I see everyone wearing all sorts of things in the casual to dressy range at these events.
Tory Burch’s clothes are really starting to grow on me. I’m liking this gal’s style more and more.
Alex Kramer and Dayssi seem to be wearing the same thing as at the D&G fete. Well, Alex’s top is very similar, not exactly the same outfit, of course. I guess they know what works for them. Is Tory teeny tiny? She’s certainly had an impressive year.

Can somebody explain to me how it is possible that these women have so much money, access to the best clothes on the planet, and still always manage to be so incredibly unattractive? You’d pass any one of them on the street and not even notice.

yeah it’s SO WEIRD. i mean, the average well botoxed person is frozen-ish, but with tory it’s like another level. it’s actually really weird. i mean, is that the expression she makes for EVERYTHING? sex? fighting? sorrow? the same face? creepy.
Gigi Howard is a georgous PEACH!! She needs no Prince Felipe. How many people do you know with those legs???? What a fantastic dress!
priscilla is so beautiful. Cristina looks very nice as well. Gigi looks ridiculous. No matter what is “in” or “out”, overly shiny fabrics like that will always look tacky.

I think if GiGi actually wore a little make-up, her look would be improve.
Her face has some serious shine and the color is uneven. Nothing that needs extraordinary measures, just a little blotting!
Gigi Howard is wearing Tory Burch. The dress is cut short but looks really cute- she is like, what, 6 feet tall with those heels? FYI, she dated Prince Felipe in 1995. She was a Columbia student then. Was in Hello, People magazine, all of that stuff… they broke up and then she sort of disappeared…

Wow, New York City is supposed to be the fashion capital of the world… You know, I wouldn’t mind the ugly clothes but these people parade themselves as being the cream of the crop when it comes to fashion. Andres is not cheating. He was never cheating. Lauren is not cheating. She does have a hundred gay men that follow her. Lauren and Andres love each other and have been together for four years.
She is best friends with Tinsley. She never wasn’t to begin with. There was no “making up” because there were never any problems.
RE Her Wedding: She will wed, in January, in Colombia. No bridesmaids. They will honeymoon in France, Spain, and on one of the Santo Domingo private islands.

Alot of social weddings do not have extensive bridal parties or bridal parties at all. Low key.

she doesnt have many bridesmaid choices. none of her friends from greenwich, prep school or college even like her or speak to her. she was known and is still for being very sneaky. sounding like andre is too.
Put a habit on Gigi M. and she would look like every single nun who taught me in Catholic grade school. She is really awful the neck-up. It feels like she over-embellishes on her clothes to make up for the awfulness going on up north.
Dayssi is the biggest joke in S. American society, btw for anyone interested. The fact that she desperately fought her way into ny society and took her husband’s name with the archaic-never-used-any-longer ‘de’ in front of the surname only adds to her ridiculousness. She really is THE joke around there.

people keep saying no one uses the “de”—i actually know a lot of Venezuelans and Mexicans that do. And Brooke de Ocampo did and no one picks on her for it even though she’s a gringa. At least Dayssi is Latin. I mean, it just seems a little unfair . . .
I hear what you are saying Sloane, totally, however it is really not de rigeur right now. Some mexicans or venezuelans may use it but it truly is not correct. Brooke I believe was at the tale end of the trend of using it. She of course, is not as tacky as DdeK so that separates them.
