The Aristas June 7, 2007

Socialite Jules Kirby has roots in New York through her father, Roger Kirby, but she hardly stays put in the United States, instead spending most of her time in London, Paris, or off of the coast of Brittany in Belle Isle En Mer, preferring the likes of aristas – my term for the Heathfield St. Mary’s-educated daughters of British peers – over the Vogue approved women of New York. I thought I’d use the weekend to present a part of Jules’s lifestyle, and with that, introduce some of London’s finest.

George Scott (on left) and Alice Deen
Jules’s rumored love interest, George Scott had a weekend party at his mother’s hotel, Trasierra, several miles north of Seville, Spain. It was a white party with white dress required for entry and endless supplies of white wine and Russian vodka for all. Before coming to Trasierra, the revelers went into the streets of Seville, hitting tapas bars and poolside resorts nearby.

Lord Frederick Windsor with the children of Andalucia

Richard Dennen, Camilla Stopford Sackville, Amanda Sheppard, and Alice Deen
The guest list included Jules’s friends – all fixtures of young London’s close-knit social scene – Lily Balfour, Camilla Stopford Sackville, Bill Buckhurst, Hugo Wilson, Vanessa Garwood, Mary Douglas-Home, Violet Naylor-Leyland, Georgina Downie, and Alice Deen. British Royal Lord Frederick Windsor used the weekend as an opportunity to introduce his new girlfriend Sophie Winkleman to his friends.

Lady Mary Douglas-Home, Lily Balfour, Alice Deen
Lily’s Christian name is Consuelo, a namesake of her ancestor, the New York railroad heiress Consuelo Vanderbilt. She is the great-granddaughter of the tenth Duke of Marlborough. She is close with Richard Dennen, the Tatler writer and friend of Lady Natasha Rufus Isaacs, the sister of Jules’s other rumored love interest, Jules, Viscount Erleigh, heir-apparent of the fourth Marquess of Reading.
Camilla is the granddaughter of the third Lord Cowdray, and is also descended from the Dukes of Marlborough. Her cousin William, Lord Buckhurst, the heir-apparent of the eleventh Earl De La Warr, uses the name Bill Buckhurst as an actor. He was at the party with his friends Harry Hoffen and painters Hugo Wilson and Vanessa Garwood.
Lady Mary, the daughter of the fifteenth Earl of Home, is one of the lead blondes in the post-Kate Middleton world of Prince William. She joins the likes of Holly Branson, the daughter of businessman Richard Branson, and Isabella Calthorpe, the granddaughter of the sixth Earl Howe, who happens to be the girlfriend of Holly’s brother Sam.
Violet is the granddaughter of the sixth Earl of Durham, and is descended from the Dukes of Norfolk and Somerset. She is best friends with Georgina Downie, a boxer and former fling of Prince Harry, and Alice Deen, the organizer of the holiday and a great-granddaughter of a Campbell baronet.

The non-stop partying lasted for two whole days. As evidenced, hardly anyone slept a wink.

I love, love, LOVE the British.
They are all so gorgeous and having so much fun. Young London society over New York anyday, hands down, for me!
more hugo wilson please!! the guy is seriously so hot…..
Is that Maggie Betts in the last 2 pics?
All I see are unibrows and greasy bleached blondes.
God, I hate Euro-trash.
Awesome job on the heritage, James. I love that part! Keep it coming…
Wow! They all look wasted!
actually, she looks really beautiful. and you sound like an angry psycho. get over it.
yay it seems like james has a slightly wider interest on the world’s socialite.. from new york to londan.. bravo. next time please post about the grimaldis, eugenie niarchos, pozzo di borgo, etc. brilliant boy.
I don’t know why, but when I see pictures of Americans this wasted I think it is tacky. But when I see the British like this, I find it sort of bohemian and cool.
Love this and I agree with LG — they look so chic and gorgeous (especially Lady Mary-Douglas Home), and they appear to be actual friends enjoying each other, not just posing fakely together for a photo op. And thank you for including the provenance.
But I must point out — if Jules Kirby is so over the Voguettes in favor of the Aristas, how do her pictures keep ending up on this site?
